If a unit in range would gain life, that unit loses that much life instead.
RULINGS
Even though healing abilities might cause units to lose life, they are still considered healing abilities. This only changes the effect on the target, not the caster. If a champion within the range heals a champion outside of the range, that unit would gain life.
